BSNL - DSL Router Username Reset Issue

I am using BSNL broadband connection from long. Recently I started facing a weird issue of username in the modem settings getting reset to duplicates. This has resulted me to have utstarcom1, UTstarcom2 etc., and Internet LED in the BSNL modem gets keep blinking and not able to use the internet. This was also showing an Authentication failure error in PPPoE protocol as shown below:


You can follow the below steps to resolve this issue:
Step:1
Login to BSNL DSL router by typing default ip ‘192.168.1.1’ with user name and password. Username will be ‘admin’ and and password is what you had configured earlier. The default password will be ‘admin’.
After logging in, you would see the default device info as shown below:


Step2:

Click on Device Info -> WAN as shown below
This is to make sure; you are getting the ‘Authentication Failure’ error.

Step3:
Click on Advanced Setup -> WAN and click on “Edit” for “PPPoE” protocol as shown below.
Step4:
Below window would be shown up once you click on “Edit” button and then click on ‘Next’ as shown below

Step5:
Then click on ‘Next’

Step6:
By clicking next, PPP Username and Password window will be displayed. Enter your Username provided during installation of the BSNL broadband connection by BSNL guys and password. Enter PPPoE Service Name as dataone and select AUTO as Authentication Method. Check Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports as shown below.

Step7: Next you will be seeing the below settings. Please make sure the below highlighted items are correct as shown below and click on next
Step8: Then you will see the below information. Click on next as highlighted below
  
Step9: Then you would see the below. Click on Save / Reboot button

Then you will see the below message. After this please close the browse to get the changes effect

To make sure the issue got resolved, please login to ‘192.168.1.1’ and goto to device info -> summary as shown below.
